There is an increasing awareness of protecting our historic fabric and part of the Government's and Local Authority's Strategy to do so has been the creation of Conservation Areas which seek to protect those areas of our cites, towns and villages which have architectural, spatial or simple aesthetic value which should be preserved and protected.

Adapting homes for the 21st century within this context can be a challenge at times however we have successfully delivered a number of sensitive projects in Conservation Areas and this roof top addition further compliments that experience.

The growing family needed more space and with limited opportunity to push out into the garden, the decision was taken to push up and make use of the roof void.

The massing has been positioned to the rear of the main footprint of the house so as to limit the visual impact from street level. Internally a new master bedroom is created with ensuite and generous dressing area to the rear.
