Orange House

Project:  Rear extension, Redland, Bristol

Client:    Private

This project extends a a family home to create a new split level kitchen dining area with direct access to the garden beyond. Vibrancy is added through the use of bold colours in the appliances and acoustic baffles slung from the ceiling.

From the outset the acoustic environment was considered as all too often these large hard surfaced spaces do not provide the ideal space for a bustling family to gather. Baffles are distributed across the ceiling and aligned with the exposed LVL rafters and lighting scheme.

Key element: Full acoustic, lighting and layout design with a phased construction enabling the family to remain in occupancy throughout the works. The kitchen was supplied by Sustainable Kitchens
