Cryer&Coe architects

The sensitive third phase of a care village on a steeply sloping site surrounded by Tree Preservation Orders and ecological constraints, comprising 53 one and two bed extra care apartments. The apartments are designed around a repetitive building form rotated and extended to provide streetscape and address context.
 
The repetitive design simplifies construction methodology and reduces construction costs. Due to the nature of the site and challenging programme the scheme is designed as steel frame with cold rolled insulated metal frame. Taking cues from the completed previous phases, materials are selected to completed the wider masterplan and create a sense of place across the care village.
 
Key element: Repeatable design reducing programme and construction cost on constrained site.
